Intro

What is the objective of this project?

The objective of this project is to revamp and refresh the WY Metro brand, guaranteeing its continued relevance and recognition in today’s fast-paced society. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and forward-looking strategies, the ultimate goal is to establish the Metro brand as the premier source for all passenger information requirements in the region and bring it to the forefront of the public’s attention.

What is WY Metro?

The Metro brand, used by West Yorkshire combined authority is their passenger information brand. It has remained largely unchanged since the early 1990s. It is dedicated to providing efficient and reliable passenger information services to the people of West Yorkshire. As the premier transport authority in the region, their mission is to keep communities connected through sustainable solutions that enhance mobility and improve quality of life.

Why am I doing this project?

As someone who’s grown up in West Yorkshire and has used the Metro system to travel around the area I wanted to look at how it could evolve for my current needs and hopefully the needs of the people from West Yorkshire and its visitors. While the brand has a strong history and is recognisable in the region, I believe more could be done to evolve and adapt to the current always online culture.

What do I mean by always online and what does it mean for the Metro system?

In today’s fast-paced world, people rely heavily on technology to access information quickly and easily. The Metro brand needs to adapt and modernise to meet the expectations of its customers who expect real-time information at their fingertips. Failure to do so could result in decreased usage of the Metro brand, leaving customers feeling disconnected and frustrated with the service.

Part 1 of the project covers Structure, Branding and Personas
